On Tuesday, October 3, 2017, “Man the Block Party” will take place from 4:00pm-6:00pm at the Richard Wright Public Charter School on L Street SE, between 7th and 8th Streets SE. Legendary hip hop artist, Doug E. Fresh will perform at this community event to celebrate youth as the ones adults need to protect and support in their educational pursuits. Man the Block promotes diligently working together to create change in this divisive climate and models for youth positive ways of creating change proactively and cohesively. Dr. Marco Clark, Founder and CEO of Richard Wright Public Charter School, emphatically believes in creating safe and nurturing environments both in and out of school to ensure the highest level of quality education for all children.
