Student Application for SY16-17
For this upcoming 2016-2017 School Year, Richard Wright PCS is a participant in the city-wide “Common Application and Common Lottery” for DCPS and most DC Public Charter Schools. Our next application period for SY16-17 becomes available December 1, 2016 for Grades 8 through 10. Parents residing in the District of Columbia wishing to enroll their child in grade 8, 9 or 10 at Richard Wright Public Charter School must complete an application at www.MySchoolDC.org. April 1, 2016. Enroll via the link here.
New Student Enrollment
You will need to log in to your account at www.MySchoolDC.org to see your lottery results – or check your email if you provided an email address. If you were matched with a school through the lottery, you must accept your space by completing the New Student Admission Documents and presenting Proof of Residency by May 2, 2016. To accept your space you must submit ALL required enrollment forms and proved DC Residency.
If you fail to complete the mandated documents, inclusive of providing DC Residency by the city-wide deadline of May 2, 2016, your child will be moved to the waitlist.
The documents to be completed:
- SY16-17 Enrollment Form
- Emergency Contact Form
- Home Language Survey
All new students must provide the following documents must be provided to the school the following documents by the specified dates:
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- Individualized Educational Plan or 504 Plan (if applicable)
- Most Recent Report Card (Upon Acceptance)
- Final Report Card (June 2016)
Current students at RWPCS electing to re-enroll for SY16-17 may do so during the Re-enrollment Period conducted March 1, 2016- March 30, 2016. Students failing to re-enroll will not be guaranteed placement for the upcoming school year and may be required to participate in the enrollment process with new students seeking admission to the school.

Open House/Shadow Visits
Richard Wright Public Charter School conducts “Open House” every other Tuesday, 10-11am beginning December 2015. The program is designed for interested families to shadow students in the classrooms and/or speak with the Head of School. Please call Ms. Glover at extension 155, RWPCS Parent and Community Liaison, in advance to schedule your visit. You may email Ms. Glover at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an appointment as well.
Upload Enrollment and Residency Documents
RWPCS is offering parents the convenience to upload mandated documents via the website to complete New and Returning Student Enrollment Documentation. Parents must download the DC Residency Verification Formhere and complete contact information, read and sign Section C ONLY. Then send signed forms along with residency to the school’s main office. You may also click the link below to “UPLOAD ELECTRONICALLY” your “DC Residency Verification Form” and “Proof of Residency” required to complete enrollment. You will receive confirmation of your upload immediately.
