Dear Parents and Guardians:
I would like to take this moment to thank you and your child for partnering with us at Richard Wright Public Charter School for Journalism and Media Arts for the 2019-2020 school year!
It is with great pleasure that I inform you that Richard Wright Public Charter School for Journalism and Media Arts is a Title I school for the 2019-2020 school year. Because 89% or more of our school population receive free and reduced meals, we are eligible to receive additional federal funding to help provide our school with professional development, parent involvement activities, and other academic programming designed to help your child succeed in school this year.
Being a parent at a Title I School is a great privilege and responsibility. We need the support from our parents to ensure our students reach their full academic potential. We hope that you will consider taking an active role in our school—reach out to your child’s teacher(s) regularly, attend or volunteer at school activities, and help guide our school policies.
We will have our annual Title I parent meeting during the RWPCS PTA Meeting WEDNESDAY, September 18, 2019 at 5:00pm. At the meeting, we’ll discuss further how we are using our Title I dollars to provide services to your child, and what we all (students, parents, teachers, and administrators) are accountable for in ensuring your child’s success.
Thank you for choosing Richard Wright Public Charter School for Journalism and Media Arts for your child’s education. We are excited about this new school year and look forward to all our students’ social and academic growth.
